“Battle of Bastogne” 12 hour Scenario Game
Saturday, February 6th, 2010“The Battle of Bastogne”
12 hour Scenario game, presented by Gateway Action Sports
Storyline:
During the Battle of the Bulge, the German’s goal was the Harbor of Antwerp. In order to reach the harbor, before the Allies could regroup, the German Army had to seize the roadways throughout eastern Belgium in the Ardennes mountain range. All the main roads converged on the small town of Bastogne.
The small town of Bastogne was held by the 101st Airborne Division and several supporting units. Low on supplies and ammunition, fighting the cold and weather, outnumbered, and not knowing when reinforcements or supplies drops will arrive, from December 20th to December 27th, 1944, the 101st held Bastogne from the German Army.
Unknown to the 101st, Patton’s Third Army was marching to Bastogne to reinforce the battered and surrounded unit.
We will be having 3 different armies in this event. The American force will be split between the 101st and 3rd Army, and the German force will be one force.
